Sir Peter Scott's bins sold at public auction (1 Viewer)

I've found out that earlier this week Peter Scott's awards and medals including his CBE and WW2 medals were sold at public auction last week. Does anyone know if the WWT purchased them, as it seems odd that so many important momentos of their founder have been allowed to enter private hands. Presumably Lady Scott would have left such personal effects to the trust on her passing, last December two pairs of Peter Scott's binoculars went on sale and reached £40 and £150 respectively!

I know very little about Peter Scott but from the documentaries I've seen I can't help but feel he'd have much preferred that WWT money was spent on the cause than on mementoes.

Surprisingly low prices for his binoculars though!
