Mic for Samsung galaxy (1 Viewer)

Hi, looking for recommendations on a mic that connects to a Samsung galaxy for recording bird calls/song.

Regards Gerard.

There is quite a lot on the internet regarding interfacing an external mic to a Galaxy device, there seems to be quite a variation between different versions of the same device. Some Galaxy devices being very fussy about the impedance of the mic before they even recognise it as a mic.
Once you are confident that you can achieve this I would read through the posts in the Bird Sounds Recording Eqpt & Discussion section of this Forum for recommendations for mics.
In any case I would try starting a thread there as well, as it possibly may get a better response.

A "RODE VIDEO MIC" is all you really need for excellent audio on your phone and only one cable to plug in and that's it. my note 3 produces stunning audio and all for only about $130. read the reviews on the mic's and you'll see.

Looking at the price quoted it may well be the Rode VideoMic Pro that is being discussed, which can provide a +20 db gain if needed, compared to the far cheaper standard model which doesn't.

Clearly you are looking for a solution that does not require a mains powered pre-amp as shown in the video!

Good luck

It's likely that no further discussion is required, in which case we recommend starting a new thread. If however you feel your response is required you can still do so.
