Digiscoping with the Sony Alpha 6300 (1 Viewer)

I've had the A6300 for about a month now. I've had it out digiscoping a couple of times and am liking it a lot. Images from it a a little better than the Panasonic GX8 for stills and low light and the 4k video is nice too.
The Focus Peaking seems to be implemented a bit better than the GX8 and GH4 , so was faster to get in focus. I've been using it with the new Swarovski TLS APO23 so haven't tested any lenses yet. I got the two lens kit ( 16-50 and 55-210mm)
Here are a few images from a trip to the wetlands last week.

Sony Alpha 6300

Hi Neil I have the Nikon V1 J5 for a couple of weeks and like you I miss the viewfinder and also finding it hard to see the LCD screen in bright sunlight. Also the lack of a way to remote shoot is proving a big no no for me. The bottom line is the Nikon is going back and I am now looking for the best Camera for digiscoping the Sony Alpha 6300 is available here now in Ireland. would you recommend it? I am also interested in the Panasonic GX8 which has good reviews. I have also contacted Paul Sayagh about the digidapter and my Hyperion Eyepiece will be on the way to him on Monday, thanks for the heads up on that one. Also what lens would you recommend. sorry for all the questions. Regards

Hi Neil,
Love the Snipe photo! I've found that AF on the a6300 is much more accurate if I select Landscape (vs. Standard) in the Creative Style mode. Turn up settings to +3. Focus is also better in Manual mode using magnified focus versus focus peaking alone. Still waiting to try 4K...

Thanks for the tip Jerry. I'll try it. I like the Focus Peaking on the Sony. Much easier to see than the Panasonics.
Neil.

Just back from a quick trip to Ohio and New Jersey to shoot warblers. Digiscoped with the Sigma 30/2.8 on the Sony ILCE 6300 and in the bright light of New Jersey the AF was quick. The Least Flycatcher was nice to see to.

Fantastic quality Photographs Neil. Brilliant detail and pin sharp. I am in awe of your work. I have the Sony 6300 and the Sigma 30mm with the Digidapter but still on a learning curve not getting good results as of yet, still trying manual focus and AF. I can't seem to master it yet. My scope is not the best (Celestron Ultima 100) so might change it if a good benefactor appears!
Keep up the good work really stunning.

Neil I took out the Kowa Lens Scope with the Sony A6300 my ISO was 1200 with a 1/30th shutter speed good thing the remote I used with the Sony RX-100MK2 is compatible .

My very first photos posted up on Birdforum.net.
A couple of local house sparrows feeding in my Garden. Trying to get used to the Sony Alpha 6300 with the Sigma 30mm 2.8 lens and Digidapter. As said before only using a Celestron Ultima 100 Spotting scope. the focusing is better than the Panasonic GH4 with 20mm 1.7 Lens which I also have but I will use the GH4 for 4K Stills in the future. I am still in Training mode with Digiscoping.
