birding San Antonio area
I have a place in San Antonio and a little pop up camper with A/C. :) I started birding in Asia about 2 years ago and really like the photography end of it. I was back home in S.A. last summer and am heading back this summer for 3 months. I birded the Llano S.P., botanical garden in S.A. Lost maples. can someone from the are or someone recommend some birding spots for a 3 month trip.

Over the summer months, the Hill Country offers many great birding opportunities. Over the last four summers, I have led a trip for the Texas Ornithological Society to Rocksprings, and we bird the roads around there. We also bird at Kickapoo Caverns, a place I would heartily recommend.
The area around Garner State Park and Neal's Lodges in Concan can be very productive, too. At Neal's you can buy a Birder's Guide to the Concan Area, by June Osborne. It's a great resource. The Big Bend area doesn't get as much visitation during the summer, but birding opportunties abound. The area around the town of Balmorhea, including the state park is great, as are the Davis Mountains. There's a state park there, too. eBird can give you an idea of birds that are being seen in hotspots or the various counties in the region. The TEXBIRDS listserve is helpful, too, as sightings of notable birds are posted there. Hope this helps. Here are some of the URLs for sites I've mentioned: ebird.org www.birdingonthe.net (for TEXBIRDS listings) www.texasbirds.org (TOS)

When living in the area, it probably would be worth it for you to purchase some ABA birdfinding guides, at least two of which are relevant for Texas (Texas coast and Rio Grande Valley). There are a couple of websites with site information: World birding center and Coastal birding trail I believe they are called.
