A friend of mine visited South Africa in November, where he took this photo of a lizard. Does anyone know what it is?

This appears to be Agama agama, variously called the Common Agama, Red-headed Rock Agama, or Rainbow Agama. The males are colorful in breeding season.

I posted this here after e-mailing an expert and receiving no reply, but he got back to me today and said that this was a Namibian Rock Agama Agama planiceps. I have had a look at distribution maps, and from what I can see, Common Agama does not occur near the region.

For it to be Namibian Rock Agama, I realize that there must have been a mix-up on my part, so I apologise for any confusion caused. My friend also spent a couple of days in Namibia, and must have taken this photo then.
