Sunday, 3PM - Philadelphia USA. I guess I woke this fellow from his reveries of Saturday night revelling. He didnt seem to be in any great hurry to leave these sycamore branches over Pennypack Creek a half a mile or so from its connection with the Delaware River.

Very nice Fred. I have never had the good luck to find the night herons perched. Always wading around the waters and dipping their heads down just as the shutter snaps.

Beautiful bird on handsome branches of the sycamore.. KC, I agree, it's difficult to find one perched and posing for you. Have a good weekend.

Great shot Fred. I've never found one perched either. Usually, hunkered down looking dejected.
Pennypack was a nice birdy section back in the 70-80's. Hopefully it still is! Took a few trips while in the area to John Heinz site on the Delaware, found it to crowded for birding.
