Eider ssp? (1 Viewer)

Chriswilko

Allergic to feathers
Hi,

The attached pic was taken by my 11 year old daughter last week at Seahouses Northumbs. I haven't seen teh bird - she was on a trip with her mum. It's an Eider with a striking Orangey-yellow bill.

Maybe a slight hint of sails but nothing definite.

I was wondering what opinions are regarding it's ssp. Possible some 'borealis' genes involved? Or is it within the normal variation of 'Britis' Eider?

There are more pics if anybody is interested.

Many Thanks,

Chris
