Any ideas on this one? These were taken by a friend who is looking for an ID. The color may be off a bit as these were shot in early morning light

Thanks Jim. That seems to be the consensus on this bird but there appears to be too much of a white wing bar for Indigo Bunting IMO.

Yes, I noticed that. But they can show a faint wing bar, and the light might just be hitting it right. The breast streaking and white throat, are both good for Indigo Bunting -- and not for Lazuli Bunting, which is the primary alternative.
