Problem S American moth in Africa (1 Viewer)

This New World species was found once (I think in 1999) infesting a field of Sweetcorn in Germany. I've not yet read what was thought to be the origin of the larvae but I suspect imported plants rather than as a result of migration. The crop was destroyed. I wonder if this current 'disaster' might be the same.

In general sweet corn is not imported as plant but as seed. Are the larvae of this moth living inside the seed? If so, make sure you do not import seeds from S.America or spray/ fumigate the seed before usage.
