Lapwings (1 Viewer)

Just had an amazing hour or so right up close to 3 or 4 Lapwings on downland near Frensham in Surrey. The late afternoon sunlight and clear air was perfect for picking out detail through 10x50s and I could even see one bird's throat warbling as it made its call on the wing! Their condition and markings were superb too.

This is the same site as used to be heavily frequented by Skylarks, but they have not be present for 5 years or so, so to see Lapwings in this locale bodes well for future sightings!
