It is a teal, may be a young one or a female. One thing to look out for on teal, apart from the small size, are the pale 'wedges' on either side of the tail, these stand out at quite a distance and aren't seen on other European ducks.

Fem type Teal, good pic as well considering they are usually quite flighty.

Juvenile teal judging from the neck pattern and overall darker coloration.
