Is this a female teal (Anas crecca)? Pics from yesterday afternoon.

It is a teal, may be a young one or a female. One thing to look out for on teal, apart from the small size, are the pale 'wedges' on either side of the tail, these stand out at quite a distance and aren't seen on other European ducks.
