Canon EOS 400D + Bushnell Spacemaster? (1 Viewer)

Hello friends,

I am planning on buying a Canon EOS DSLR 400D Camera. I want to attach it to my Bushnell Spacemaster ((78-1817) since 2003) telescope. Does anyone know or have any experience with doing this?

As far as I can tell I need a Bushnell 1.25" Camera Adapter for the telescope along with a T-mount for the camera.

I can't find the adapter in the UK.

Is this correct? My scope is quite old so I figured this might not apply to it but just the newer versions of Bushnell Spacemaster.

I do not have much knowledge in this field, so any comments or suggestions are more than welcome.

Thank you in advance! :)

Does the eyepiece detach from your scope to allow you to mount an adapter? The part you linked to is for astro scopes that take 1.25" eyepieces. The parts you linked to are easy enough to find in the UK but not sure if they are right for your scope as they are not normally what you would mount to a spotting scope.

Paul.

Thanks!

The eye piece is just screwed on, yes. The diameter of the hole that remains after removing the eye piece is around 3.5 cm.

If that's the case then these definitely aren't the correct parts.

Bushnell make an slr adapter but it is for their Elite range of scopes and it has some optics inside to correct the image before it gets to the slr camera.

No way of knowing if it would fit the Spacemaster as they specifically say it's for the Elite.

I think the only way to digiscope with your scope would be to attach a point and shoot camera to the eyepiece.
