Velbon sherpa 600n + manfrotto 128RC - will the combination work?

Hi

I have read on this forum that the 128RC would allow me to use my swaro 80HD without a foot plate. Can anyone tell me whether this head would work with my current tripod. The velbon head screws off the central column. There are no locking screws.

Thanks

Mark
