Robins just stare (1 Viewer)

In March I put up a robin nesting shelf up under a eve of my house. And have been disapointed that they have not even perched on it, all they do is stare at it from the clostest tree branch. Is this normal? Is there a way i could get then to nest in the box? Thanks in advance

They stare at it because it's something that is very unusual to them they'd think "ohh whats that not seen that before" but probably soon they will perch on it.

Maybe you got it too high? Most robin nests I've seen are 5' or less off the ground...always exceptions....
And if this post works (which this is my first attempt) you can see that you don't need a special shelf for them!!
They are facing full west (tsk, tsk, tsk)

Or maybe not, They were making a nest this morning in a tree in the other yard. errrr :C
