Iran during summer and ramadan. (1 Viewer)

I finally got around to finish my trip report on an outstanding couple of weeks in Iran, in the first half of July 2014...here.

Most sites are wellknown from Jos Stratfords 3 reports, but as it turned out, even in the middle of summer it's quite easy to find the specialities, and the people, culture and landscapes would be reason enough to go.

Enjoy

Jens

Thanks for the report; sounds like a great trip. Sadly for holders of British passports, backpacking trips like this are not currently possible.

Unfortunately there are a few political issues, that complicates a trip to Iran, the most recent being a law, that was passed in the US in December 2015, making it impossible for anyone having visited Iran (and Iraq, Syria, Libya, Yemen, Sudan and Somalia) since 2011 to obtain an ESTA or e-visa to the USA - now you must apply for a tourist visa in person at the nearest US embassy.

The restriction is for persons that have visited Iran, Iraq, Sudan or Syria was passed in December, the addition of Libya, Yemen and Somalia was added only this last month.
