Canon 30D - still a good choice? (1 Viewer)

Speaking as a Nikon user, the 30D is in many respects the better camera with a metal body and a proper mirror lock up. IMO that last feature is essential. If you can still get one at that price, get it.
 
One sure advantage of the D30 for bird photography is the 5 fps over Nikon's 3. If you want the same or higher continuous rate, you have to go for the D200 or the new D300.
