Pink-dyed Black-headed Gull (1 Viewer)

The pink-dyed Black-headed Gull in the attached photograph was on my local patch in the West Midlands last Saturday (19th March) and again today (23rd).

The pink colouration is on the ends of the terials, the rump, tail and vent. It is the same on both wings.

The BTO are not aware of anyone dyeing gulls pink and think that it must have picked up the pigment from a rubbish tip or similar.

If this was the case then wouldn't there also be colour on the primaries?

Does anybody know if anybody is marking gulls with a pink dye at the moment?
