Hi Harry and a warm welcome to you from the entire staff here at BirdForum :t:

I'm going to move your request into the list section as you are likely to get more suggestions there.

Hi Harry
Glad you found us on Birdforum and hope you enjoy things here.

I use Jeff's database to log all my sightings, as well as inputting them onto Birdtrack.
Jeff's database is a free program that you can download from HERE even if you don't have Microsoft Access you can use it, as Jeff has now got a runtime version of access you can download as well.
The Birdtrack site is HERE it is organised by the British Trust for Ornithology and it ensures that all your sightings are used to the best scientific advantage. Every sighting is valuable so it pays to list the lot.

Harry, you may also try eBird, an online database into whichthat you enter your sightings. There are downloadable spreadsheets that allow you to enter your ebird data. I think the link is ebird.org. researchers do some good stuff with the data and they've just went worldwide last year. You can sort your lists quite easily. Best!
