What method do you use to clean your Zeiss binoculars ? (1 Viewer)

Well, I only have a fraction of that invested in my L-Glass SLR shooting bag, but you are right. After 10 years, my lens pens have worked extremely well with no issues of damage to their lens surfaces!

SONA tech service rep just confirmed that using a "clean" lens pen will work very well. Actually, the Swaro cleaning kit has a lens pen in it! Tech stated to just make sure any and all solid debris are first removed from the lens surfaces, as with the natural hair end of the pen and\or a good air bulb blower.

My Lens Pen experience is less positive.
I tried to clean the lens of my Canon SX260 pocket zoom and just scratched the lens.
Probably not the Lens Pens fault, the camera lens only extends when powered and so preliminary rinsing is out of the question. Still, the brush clearly did not remove all debris, so using the pen did damage.
Always rinse first to flush out the grit!

Correct...on most SLR lenses and bino optic glass, their "water proof" status allows for a good rinsing first. Out in the field, a good blower, then a clean pen should work equally well!

Always keep your lens cloth, lens pen, brush in a clean zip lock or similar bag. This may seem obvious however, it doesn't seem to be for some folk.
