wood sandpiper (1 Viewer)

not very good shots but is this a wood sandpiper at elmley during the drought

Yep, I'll second that. Note the white area leading up to the shoulder (not on a Wood Sand). The legs on a Wood Sand are also quite a bit longer and more a yellowy green than the common and also you would have probably noticed your bird habitually bobbing up and down. The Wood Sand does bob but usually only when agitated.
