I have had a BT visiting my garden for over a week now and thought that it was always carrying nesting material but after looking at it through my bins today, I noticed that its beak was just under an inch long!!
I could not see whether this was just the top part of its beak but I've never seen anything like this before. It is also very, very pale - much paler than a female. I'm glad to say this it is feeding well though.
I wondered if anyone else had seen one like this and what could cause it?
