Sharm el Sheik in January (1 Viewer)

Just booked up a holiday for the second fortnight in January and wondered what I might look out for in that part of Egypt at that time of year?

Its been a few years since I was there in december. There is a good chance the sewage works at Naama Bay have gone as there was major developments in the area.
One place that will still be there is St Katherine's Monastery-Mount Sinai. This well worth a morning and will get some of the goodies in the Sinai. Set off by taxi around 05:30, you should then arrive at 08:15. This is ideal timing as the day tourist will not have arrived yet and the other tourists will have seen sunrise from the mountain and will have made their way down leaving all their rubbish behind.
So at this time you have the mountain to yourself.
Chukar & SandPartridge will be on the trail - feeding on rubbish. Tristram's Grackle around the Monastry. WC Wheatear - all over.
Sinai Rosefinch, quite a few at the start of the trail.
Clear up and get back to Sharm before 3pm, and keep the family happy.
