Welney WWT site (1 Viewer)

Welney WWT is well worth a winter visit at least once, by everyone. The 'floodlit feeding times' for the winter swans is a real spectacular thing to see.
Maybe not to see more than once but it's a 'birding event' that deserves to be on everyones 'life list', probably alongside 'snettisham knots'.

yes, but only if you like a heated observation room, lots of Whooper and Bewick Swans and other wildfowl, a very nice cafe and shop, and need I go on? ;)

Hi Ken

A heated observation room sounds a dream. Sounds great after the really draughty Island Bird Hide at Titchwell on Sunday afternoon - it must have been the way the wind was blowing. Thermal undies came to mind LOL.

Sounds it is set up for visitors and cater for their needs - yes must give it a try.

Sounds good cheersm8. Must pop in for a look sometime in the nest future during the winter months.

Snettisdham Knots ... I have not seen yet except on Autumnwatch - no doubt one day it will happen.

Definitely worth a visit, especially another month or so, the surrounding fields during the daytime will have fantastic numbers of Swans feeding, a 'wonderful' must see!
