What is your favourite wintering bird? (1 Viewer)

Short-tailed Hawk, Black-throated Green Warbler, Painted Bunting, and Scissor-tailed Flycatcher all come to mind as favorites in my part of the world for the winter season.

Wouldn't say I have a favourite, but I really like the sound of whooper swans or geese flying overhead, especially when it's several minutes before you can see them.

But one highlight of winter is the humble robin - I like that they become bolder over the winter.

My favorites are all the ducks that come to a refuge near where I live. I'm still deciding on which is my favorite, but if I would have to say now, it would be my Northern Pintail lifer I got last Saturday!
