Hi there, found this in a back alley near our house,dosent look like a wild UK species. Anyone know what it is? Obviously very early to flower.

Hi.. It's Ipheion uniflorum.. a garden escape from South America... the flowers are beautifully scented... the bulbs smell like a mix of cat pee and garlic!
 
Thanks for that Quercus, I would definately not have found a South American in any of my plant books. I thought it would be destroyed where it was so dug it up and did notice the garlic smell.
