Fledgling Blackbird Help (1 Viewer)

Hi
How can i tell the age of baby blackbirds. I have two orphaned blackbirds that have been in my care since the 13th November and are both doing very well. I have been in touch with Wildlife Victoria (Australia) and given all the advice on raising them and have been told at what age i can release them. I just really dont know how old they are. They can now fly (very erratically). They have only very short tails still. They are beginning to peck around the ground for food but are still very reliant on me.
I have attached a picture taken on the day I adopted them which was the 13th November and another photo taken today (21st November)
If someone can help me i would be very grateful.
