Seen these a couple of times and not the first clue what they are.

Any ideas anyone ?

2 or 3 together, seen in flight, on the water and on land.
All white, except orange bill and legs / feet.
Pretty identical to one of the 'duck' species, ie. similar flight action, size, general appearance - colour excepted.

I've seen them a couple of times, at Buckenham Marshes and on the main river at Whitlingham ( if anyone knows the area )

My first thought was that they're plastic joke ones, but they fly as well so I've discounted that theory !

Young Mute Swan maybe ? Don't look much like swans though

'Aylesbury' breed farmyard Mallards - a very common escape. Yes, they can fly well, once they've lost their fat loads that they had back on the farm!

Also known as "call ducks" Wildfowlers breed them to attract ducks because they are so vocal. The white plumage provides an easy identification and so they avoid being shot at.
