"Sticky" tripod legs (1 Viewer)

Craig Thayer

Well-known member
I have a Bogen/Manfrotto aluminum tripod (model 3021). The legs often stick when I attempt to extend them or collapse them. I have tried adjusting the tightness of the legs screws but the problem persists. Any suggestion on what to do to correct this problem ? I tried WD-40 but this did not help.

THANKS

I have a similar problem from time to time. You could try this little trick: Rub the legs down with a candle, the (clear) wax eases the stickyness and helps the legs to slide.
