Thanks, that's a really interesting paper! I wonder however how total population and detectability may affect some of the comparisons. With regards to Groove-billed/Smooth-billed Ani vs. Mangrove Cuckoo in particular, I would think that the former are both more abundant and much easier to detect , which would result in many more vagrant records of anis compared to Mangrove Cuckoos.
