Maldives birds id? (1 Viewer)

Steve Round

Well-known member
I have just returned from the Maldives where I photographed the following birds,
rather than spend ages trying to identify them I thought that I would use the help of the members of bird forum.
The heron was about 30cm and the other bird (a type of mynah?) was about 20cm.

I am a little uncertain about the Little Heron. The beak shape does not look right, then maybe it is the angle. Do compare the attached.
Cheers!
Sumit

Hi Steve,
The juvenile plumage shows brown. This may be a different sub-species. The experts can opine.
Best,
Sumit
