The lesser whitethroat first seen from last december in derbyshire is still showing well last reports were from yesterday sat 22/02/14 also believed
to be of the eastern race.

Egginton VILLAGE It is now thought that the wintering Lesser Whitethroat is possibly a bird belonging to one of the Eastern races. A number of photos, some showing the tail pattern, have been sent to Colin Bradshaw in whose garden the Tynemouth bird is wintering in Northumberland, Colin is a past Chair of the BBRC and has written a paper on the Northumberland and Tyneside Bird Club Website on Lesser Whitethroat identification. His comments are that the bird looks good and “whatever We have got you have got as well”. This is the first ever record of a probable Eastern race Lesser Whitethroat in Derbyshire. Unfortunately the bird is coming to a bird table in a private garden in the village and cannot be seen from any public footpaths or roads. It was last reported on 17th Jan but may still be present.

Defineately still present into february according to the dos web site...;)
