Has anyone tried these ? Are they as good as the old Bausch & Lomb version ? How's the eye relief ?
Thanks for any comments.

They are excellent, especially considering their very reasonable price. The only difference between them and the "old B&L version" is the badge. Even when they were labeled B&L, they were still being made by Bushnell on the same machines as they are today. (Over the years, Bushnell has made improvements to this model like phase correction on the prisms, RainGaurd coatings, XTR coatings, etc. so, you do want to try to buy the latest model one you can.)

Eye Relief is 17mm, which makes them great for wearers of eyeglasses. They also sport exceptionally wide Fields of View (341 ft for 10x and 420 ft for the 8x.) The only drawback I know of for this binocular is that it is not tripod-adaptable - which seems an odd omission on Bushnell's part.

B&L / Bushnell Discoverer

All of the B&L models have simply been rebranded BUSHNELL. The Discoverer binoculars are brilliant and are still made in Japan for Bushnell who don't actually have a factory of their own.

I have just ordered a pair of 10 x 42 from warehouse express costing £299 . A bargain if you ask me .I have seen them being sold elsewhere for £449.99 .I will let you know how I get on .

Hi Bino....

So, did you get the 10x42 Discoverer's ? If so, it would be nice to hear your findings on these binoculars....

They seem a real bargain at the moment - but how good are they?

Cheers,

Mook

I tried them out at the Birdfair along with the 8x and the 7x (though these have been discontinued).

I was pretty impressed with them all, and thought they were possibly the best of the so-called mid-priced bins around.
