On returning from my recent work trip I discovered that the moth trap was not working so a few hurried repairs later I am back up and running as the season starts to hot up - both literally and metaphorically!
Here are a few from the last two nights which have been moonlit and very windy!
Antimistis illaudata (Larentiinae)
Audea irioleuca (Catocalinae)
Careades plana (Chloephorinae)
Ctenoplusia albostriata (Plusiinae)
Euclasta maceratalis (Pyraustinae)

Second part ......
Unknown - I really struggle with these species that roll their wings could be a Euteliinae or possibly a Neogyne
Nadagara xylotrema (Ennominae)
Oxyodes tricolor (Catocalinae)
Prophantis androstigmata (Pyraustinae)
Zeheba spectabilis (Ennominae)

I will have a few more to add to the September thread when I can get round to it!

Considering the strong winds the trap has been quite busy - hopefully it will start to drop over the next few days.

Anisozyga pieroides (Geometrinae)
Comostola sp - an apparently as yet undescribed species that I vae caught on several dates (Geometrinae)
Bracca rotundata (Ennominae)
Donuca castalia (Catocalinae)
Paectes cyanodes (Euteliinae)

Psychidae are not a group that I catch very often - in fact this is only the second individual that I have found. This one was emerging from its case last night. Unfortunately due to the strong winds it was not safe for me to go up the ladder and take some pictures of it as it was emerging but luckily once it had emerged it came lower allowing me to get these images, during the day when the wind had died down I was able to collect the case. At this stage I have got no further than it is probably an Amatissa species.

Hawkmoths are always good to catch, this is the sixth species in my garden since June this year (26th species I have caught in 2015) and by far the freshest individual of this species that I have caught.

Apologies for lack of postings but I have been without any internet at home since early October and even now am on a dodgy connection until parts arrive! That said the trapping has hardly been stunning so far, I suspect that this has something to do with how dry we are (although ironically it has absolutely poured with rain today), on average not getting more than 30 individuals of about 15 species so pretty quiet.

And a few more from the last few days
Bracca rotundata (Ennominae)
Careades plana (Chloephorinae)
Hydriris ornatalis (Pyraustinae)
Hypsopygia flavamaculata (Pyralinae) reminds me of H.costalis from my UK trapping days
Tropidtamba lepraota (Catocalinae)
