Greetings from a newbie. Looks like a great forum! Beginner's question: Is there a good online source to aid bird recognition?

Hi Dennis and a warm welcome to you from those of us on staff here at BirdForum.

Well, when our Gallery is up and running after some upgrades, you will find an immense number of photos to compare your sightings too. Also there is a site called:

www.enature.com

and if you put your zip code in, it will bring up all the birds, flora, fauna and wild animals in your neck of the woods.

Bird recognition (of which I am not a great talent) is mostly a matter of practice, practice, practice.

If you need help, you'll find plenty of you countryfolk around BF willing to give you a hand.
