Hi need help got a new canon 7d11 .raw files won't load not recognised.got Lightroom 4 and windows vista .cant upgrade any ideas

Use the free download of the adobe dng converter. If that is not enough, then try the free download of ACDSee (pro or ultimate) for a different -- and to my mind more intuitive -- experience. I have not checked the system requirements for ACDSee, but I expect that it would work.

Does Canon offer a free basic cataloger/editor and the RAW may converted into tiff/dng for Lightroom to ingest?

I should not call it a free download -- it is free for a test period.
