Seen at Roundhay Park while photographing the long-staying Whooper Swan. At first glance at the head pattern I thought a possible Mallard x Gadwall hybrid, but it has the perfect structure for a "Call Duck" type domestic Mallard (in fact, possibly the most extreme one I've seen - look at that stubby bill! It's weird to look at because it looks foreshortened even in side-on photos...) and the combination of head pattern, female-like bill pattern and otherwise male-like plumage (curly tail feathers, obviously colours are weird because it's some domestic colour morph but general brightness and boldness suggest male) remind me of some of these "intersex" Mallards: http://birdhybrids.blogspot.co.uk/2015/01/intersex-birds-and-their-confusion-with.html

Any other thoughts?

I´d say thyt´s a pure call duck breed with such a stubby bill

and with a female colored bill and that capped head pattern may well be a female displaying male feature s, so an intersex type of plumage...
