Canon IS bins (1 Viewer)

I'm wondering if bins such as Canon's 15X50 IS or 12X36 IS II could substitute for a 50mm scope such as the Nikon ED50? What would the trade off be in power etc? I have Zeiss 10X25B bins that are 35 years old. I compared them to the new Zeiss Terra 8X42 and saw no reason to 'upgrade'
I'm wondering how my Zeiss would do up against the Canon 12X36's?
