Any sites for day-trip from Oslo airport? (en route to Spitsbergen/Svalbard) (1 Viewer)

Together with 3 colleagues I shall be arriving at Oslo international airport the day before flying out to Arctic Svalbard in June. The flight north from Oslo departs early so we need to arrive in Norway up to a day before (a Sunday). We can't afford any extra time owing to family commitments. Previously, I've visited central Norway on a walking holiday so seen some of the specialities such as Siberian Jay, but we're interested in a half-day car hire to anywhere within 100 km of the airport for woodland/waterbirds. Any suggestions for memorable sites or should we just arrive late and prepare for the splendours that follow? Thank you!
