Chukar Partridge help needed (1 Viewer)

Hello,
I have 2 Chukar Partridges that i keep in my back yard. they were very active when i got them but one of them had a bad eye (cut underneath the eye and full of puss/years). now both of my birds have puss in there eyes and their eyes appear to be cut under them. I think they are now blind or see very little because they dont move anymore, and when they do, they walk into things. is there anything i can do to heal thier eyes? i tried cleaning them with water but they look the same. Please help as i have grown attached to these birds and so has my younger brother.

Thank you,
Chaldean

Please note this is not a forum for pet birds or captive birds but for observation of wild birds.

So you would maybe get more help in other forums more in the topic of captive birds, as there may be people with more experience on captive partridge diseases--- but I suppose the ultimate answer also there will be:

GET them to a veterinarian who has experience with birds--as soon as possible!

a diagnosis based on this information is near impossible, but it seems something serious to me...
and even if you describe symptoms more in detail and get some advice... how do you know that you recognize all important symptoms?

Agreed completely. It is also a potential welfare problem for the birds if they are not treated or examined by a competent vet who knows about birds. Bacterial infections (including mycoplasmas) are common in the eyes of captive birds, but without seeing the chukars a diagnosis is impossible. Take them to a vet.
