I could not see enough on your picture to make a determination.

Note that first year hummers and their mother look very much alike.
It takes a pretty good shot to answer the question that you have.

I've done some work on hummer sex/age determination. Here is one

thank you so much for your reply and i apologize for my late reply! the lil gal or guy has flown off for winter and its so sad not to see him/her! i read the same thing, about hummers looking quite similar when young and it wouldve been a treat to see how this one grew and figure out its gender
