Yesterday I finally had a few warblers. I got up early and from ~6:45 a.m to 8:30 I birdwatched. Here's what I saw:
Blackburnian Warblers
Chestnut-Sided Warblers
Yellow-Rumped Warblers
Black-Throated Green Warblers
Nashville Warblers
Green Heron
Great-Crested Flycatchers
Baltimore Orioles
Rose-Breasted Grosbeak
I went back out ~2:00 p.m. I heard a Blue-Winged Warbler's "Beeeees Buuzzzzzz." Since I have never gotten a good look a Blue-Winged, I went back into the woods to look for it. After ten minutes of neck-craning and pishing, it finally showed itself I could see that it was a Brewster's Warbler! (A hybrid between Blue-Winged and Golden-Winged Warblers) A lifer for me. I got great looks at it before it moved on. Other birds that I saw on Sunday afternoon included:
Orange-Crowned Warbler
Black-And-White Warblers
Chimney Swifts
White-Crowned Sparrow
Common Yellowthroat
Palm Warblers
Yellow Warblers
Today I saw:
Yellow-Rumped Warblers
Black-Throated Green Warblers
Bay-Breasted Warbler
Nashville Warblers
Scarlet Tanager
Blackburnian Warbler
Magnolia Warbler
Baltimore Oriole
So the major warbler migration has finally started in my part of Michigan.
