1. and 2. On a pelagic trip. A Pink-footed Shearwater I think but the dark head threw me

Thanks Alan, any other takers on the shearwater?

It's a bit funny looking but my inclination is to suggest it's a Fulmar. The dark hood doesn't really work for Pink-footed Shearwater. The shape looks very Fulmar like and it's also in heavy moult, which all of the Fulmars on that trip seemed to be.
