Have you considered Leupold Katmai 6x32, or Opticron Traveller 6x32? They give great performance for tiny binos. They feel like compacts in the hand, but more like 32mm binos on the eye, if you know what I mean! Much easier eye-placement than any of the alpha compacts.

Thanks for the suggestion. Ultra small is not as important to me as low weight for a compact. Just as long as it's reasonably small. I believe that the Leupold Katmai line has been discontinued.

I know that eye placement would be easier, but how good optically is the view of the two you listed above compared to the 8x20 Ultravid?
