large bird of prey - uk

Quite large bird, sat on a fence post near stone henge (ie salisbury plain). Very pale almost white with a few rusty patches. Seen from car so no other details noted I'm afraid. I'm assuming this would most likely be a pale buzzard unless anyone can think of anything more exciting I should check photos of?

yes, almost certainly a pale common buzzard, especially if it sat on a fence.

Short-eared owl, bustard? More than likely was a common buzzard, though.
