Casual Birder
Heavy rains and winds, yesterday and last night, here on the northernmost reaches of the Chesapeake Bay, and not much opportunity to photograph anything 'special'. Did see a pileated woodpecker in the woods near my hay shed, yesterday - and a fox sparrow on the deck - but didn't have my camera handy. This morning, I did - and all I got for my efforts was a photo of a buzzard drying its wings, whilst perched on the top of a telephone/power pole. They're not the most attractive of birds, but they do serve a useful purpose, as carrion consumers. Hope I'll get a chance to photograph the woodpecker, today - the skies have cleared, and I'll take my camera out with me, as I do the horses' stalls.
