Cabo San Lucas, Mexico: Hummingbird Footage (1 Viewer)

Hello,
While in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico I was lucky enough to capture a Hummingbird on my brand new Canon T2i. What kind of Hummingbird is this?? Anyways hope you enjoy the footage :t:

Is there a way to embed videos directly into this post?

I think this is a female Costa's hummingbird, but I'd need to see the front a little better to know for sure.

The range maps I've seen show Costa's in your area year-round. They also live in my yard year-round, and I watch them in the flowers and at the feeders every day. There are 6 or 8 of them (maybe more) — males, females, and a juvenile or two — living here right now.

Costa's are small hummers and have the sort of short and "chubby" appearance that I am seeing in your pictures. (The black-chinned, Anna's, broad-billed, rufous, violet-crowned and others living here are all bigger.)

You might want to Google for Costa's images and info.

I enjoyed seeing your videos-- thanks for sharing.

nice vid but unfourtunately you laid a piano track over the audio so there are no audible vocalizations. This bird is not a Ruby-throat
