Celestron 80ED refractor (1 Viewer)

A couple of new pics taken with the Celestron 80ED refractor with a Kiron 2X teleconverter. I get more detail without the converter, but not by much.

With such high IQ lens in your 80ED, you would need something of similarly high IQ TC to match up. Any lower IQ TC will only increase your frame up but you loose the details, speed and CA. As for me, it also makes it more difficult to focus with the dimmed VF. Just have to save to go for the Ultimate Barlow, Zeiss Abbe or at least the TMB or VIP.

Agreed. Although Paul seems to be getting some pretty good results with his telenegative elements from old lenses off ebay.

LOL. We can't compare with Paul. He only set the standard for us to aim. With the eyes and arms of both an Artist and Champ sharp shooter, give him anything and he'll do wonders.

I do find telenegative lenses performing well at very short range of less than 10m but beyond that is a landslide.
