Noise reduction freeware (1 Viewer)

I have several photos which I am quite pleased with other than noise which I have been trying to minimise.
Having already tried the Noise reduction facility in Adobe Elements with little success, I would be grateful if anyone knows of any Noise reduction freeware suitable for Apple Mac.
Until such time I have Photoshop installed, I'd appreciate any advice as to any suitable freeware which might help.

Thanks - Eos

I use the basic Neat Image freeware.Do not know as to its suitability with Apple. It is easy to use,but you do need to re-size your images to a smaller size.

I have a Mac and I too use the Neat Image free demo Photoshop plug-in. It is one of only a very few free downloads which will work on a Mac. As Christine says it will only process 1024 x 1024 pixels, so the image has to be downsized before using it. There are profiles for most cameras available on their website and it works quite well.
