Panasonic GH3 for Digiscoping (1 Viewer)

I finally had an opportunity to digiscope with the GH3 yesterday. I had been shooting stills and video using the Panasonic 20/1.7 mm lens of the last few weeks and was quite happy with it.
The light was bright enough but a bit hazy so at distance ( over 50 meters) the lens was doing a bit of "hunting"to find focus. This meant that I had to pull it back a little more from the eyepiece than I would like and vignetting kept creeping in when I wasn't paying attention. Number of Keepers was not as good as my workhouse cameras - the Sony RX100M2 and Nikon P330
I switched on the Electronic Teleconverter ( a 2.4x crop) which helped a lot with the vignetting but you have to switch off Raw in this mode.
I was great to have the power of the video modes in the GH3 and I took a lot of video clips too.

I picked up a Sigma 30/2.8 lens today for M 4/3rds. I have this lens for Nex and it's very good, although AF is a little slow on the scope.
I'll be taking it out to the wetlands tomorrow.

I took the new Sigma 30/2.8 lens out with the GH3 to the wetlands on Monday and was very impressed. It seemed to perform better than the equivalent lens on the Sony Nexes (faster AF).
I also liked it for snapshots and hand held video as I walked around.
I also shot hand held with the 100-300 mm lens and it performed quite well on slow to medium moving subjects.
The first 3 photos with the Sigma 30/2.8 lens and 4/5 with the TLS APO Adapter.
