Hello everyone, I have just joined the Forum. I am a Cornish boy, last living at Perranporth; now domiciled at Cabo Roig on the Costa Blanca, Spain. I am fortunate to be within a fairly short distance of some wonderful bird-watching sites. Have been trying out my newly acquired Sigma 150-600 lens on the local bird life but it's a brute to carry for too long.
For those who know the El Hondo wetlands and its fantastic bird life I'm sorry to say that the ongoing drought has left some areas as a sea of mud littered with dead carp, e.g. the area of the Las Anguilas hide. The herons and egrets did well when the last 6 inches of water was there, and a large flock of spoonbills came close to the hide but now it is a sorry sight. We are really desperate for rain.
